Preschool Program (ages 2.5 and up) - Our preschool dance program is exceptional. Instructors are well seasoned with years of experience. We believe a child's earliest experiences in a dance class should be fun and positive and stimulate his or her creativity. Classes combine the basics of tap and ballet, along with song and dance activities that also teach socialization skills such as taking turns, following directions, working with a partner, and improving gross motor skills. The correct dance vocabulary is always taught. Ask your child what French words he or she learned in dance class today! Yes, they perform in the recital, and they always steal the show. You'll be amazed at how much they learn.
"Mommy come meet my new friends!"
Combination Classes (up to age 7) - A one hour class that combines any two of the following subjects: ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, tumbling. You choose the class that fits your schedule that interest you/your child. Along with dance skills, students learn musicality, rhythms, and patterns, and dance to age appropriate music.
"I've been to a lot of dance recitals, and this is the best one I've ever seen." -A proud grandfather, age ?
Ballet (ages 7-adult) - Ballet is widely recognized as the foundation of all dance forms, and is also a fitting supplement to any gymnast, skater, or other athlete (even football players!). Our classes incorporate barre and centre work, stretching, adagio (movements for grace, balance, and poise), and allegro (movements for coordination, agility and strength), as well as leaps, turns, and variations. Class length varies in accordance with age and level of students. All female students are required to wear a solid color leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes with hair in a bun.
Tap (ages 7-adult) - An American dance form that incorporates rhythms, musicality, and intricate footwork that all promote coordination and agility. Done to a variety of styles of music, including contemporary, standard classics, Broadway and acapella.
Jazz (ages 7-adult) - A very popular and technical style of dance seen on all of today's reality TV dance shows. Teaches flexibility, coordination, strength, agility, and much more. Consists of warm-up, technique, progressions, leaps, turns, and choreography. Our teachers use an extensive array of music.
"I have had more fun dancing here over the past 3 years..." - Megan K., age 15
Lyrical (ages 10 and older) - Lyrical is an expressive and emotional form of dance fusing together aspects of contemporary jazz, ballet, and modern dance.
Hip-Hop (ages 5 and up) - A high energy, cardiovascular and expressive class that incorporates the latest dance moves seen on TV, music videos, movies, and commercials. All students are required to wear hip-hop sneakers.
Tumbling (ages 6-10) - Basic floor work of gymnastics taught on mats, consisting of stretching and strengthening exercises, somersaults, cartwheels, back-bends, flips and more. |
