The Dancenters current have openings on a total of 7 different competing and performing teams, for ages 5 through high school. Depending on age, minimum requirements begin at one and half hours per week of class, along with 1 local competition and 1 local performance in the spring, in addition to the year end recital. Requirements increase with age and advancement. Candidates may audition, or may be observed in class. Students are placed into the appropriate age and level team, and study with that team in all of their classes each week. Those competing in tap and jazz are required to take tap, jazz, and ballet each week. We do not compete with ballet but we feel that team members should realize the importance of ballet as the foundation of dance. Within each class, technique is studied and a routine is learned. This is the routine that will be performed at competition, as well as at the recital.
